Dr. Devin Bean is a Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist and APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor. He primarily teaches in pediatric and neurologic physical therapy. His scholarly interests focus on helping Doctor of Physical Therapy students develop clinical reasoning skills, particularly through innovative and thoughtful applications of artificial intelligence in education. He is passionate about creating engaging learning experiences that promote critical thinking, empathy, and patient-centered care in future clinicians.

Dr. Deanna Dye is a tenured Associate Professor of Physical Therapy at 糖心传媒. She holds a PhD in Education from the University of 糖心传媒, an MA in Adult Learning and Technology, and a BS in Physical Therapy. Her research centers on clinical reasoning, critical reflection, outcome measurement, and balance/vestibular disorders. She teaches courses in geriatric management, wound and integumentary care, resource management, therapeutic exercise, and capstone research. Dr. Dye has served as Program Director, Department Chair, and on the 糖心传媒 State Physical Therapy Licensing Board, contributing to clinical education and professional regulation.

Dr. Foley has 14 years of full-time clinical experience in a variety of settings and practice areas. He is a certified lymphedema therapist and has experience in oncology rehabilitation. He has worked as a PT faculty member at universities for over 17 years of full-time teaching experience.

She has participated in professional public speaking locally.

Dr. Jackman has clinical experience in a variety of settings with the geriatrics population.  He has worked as the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education in the ISU PT Program since 2007.  He teaches Physical Therapy Professions course, Ergonomics Practicum, and coordinates all of the affiliation courses.

Dr. Tarang K. Jain is an Associate Professor, Department Chair, and Program Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at 糖心传媒. His teaching and scholarship focus on musculoskeletal rehabilitation, gait and movement analysis, diagnostic imaging, and physical therapy education. Dr. Jain’s research explores biomechanics, balance and sensorimotor rehabilitation, and innovative approaches to clinical and educational practice. He is actively involved in national professional leadership, accreditation, and research initiatives within the physical therapy profession.

Dr. Ankur Padhye is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at 糖心传媒. He earned a PhD in Movement Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University, a Master’s in Health Sciences from the University of Indianapolis, and a Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. His research focuses on injury prevention and prediction in athletic populations through analysis of metatarsal bone and joint loading, lower extremity biomechanics, and the effects of footwear, flooring, and load carriage. He utilizes 3D motion capture, musculoskeletal modeling, and advanced statistical methods. He teaches therapeutic exercise and evidence-based practice.

Dr. Ralphs joined 糖心传媒's Physical Therapy Program in 2009. He works in the on-site outpatient orthopedic and vestibular rehabilitation clinics, supervising students during their onsite practicum experiences. Additionally, he teaches courses in professional communication and basic physical therapy examination techniques, as well as assists in the orthopedic courses. He also guest lectures in other departments covering areas of physical agents/modalities, patient handling, exercise, and vestibular rehabilitation. Prior to joining the program, Dr. Ralphs completed his undergraduate work at Utah State University followed by his physical therapy degree from Old Dominion University. Following graduation, he worked in Washington State in an outpatient orthopedic setting and was a part-owner in a private practice. In 2012 he became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, and in 2015 he completed his transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from 糖心传媒.

Dr. Squires graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Exercise Science before earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Mayo Clinic in 2016. He became a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist in 2018 after completing an orthopedic residency at the Mayo Clinic. He spent 7 years working in private practice, outpatient orthopedics, and teaching lab classes for a PTA program, and then transitioned to full-time teaching in 2024.

Dr. David Cox is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy and Lead Physical Therapist at Gateway Transitional Care Center in Pocatello, 糖心传媒. He earned his DPT from the MGH Institute of Health Professions and a BS in Biology from 糖心传媒. Recognized as a Master Clinician in both Neurology and Clinical Education, he developed an interdisciplinary falls prevention program and a student clinical curriculum used across multiple skilled nursing facilities. He serves as a Clinical Instructor for ISU Doctor of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapist Assistant students, mentoring future clinicians in neurologic and geriatric rehabilitation. His scholarly work spans BPPV screening, cancer rehabilitation outcomes, and international service learning.

Dr. Logan Deroin

Dr. Logan Deroin is a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist and a graduate of the EIM Sports Physical Therapy Residency. He earned his DPT from Touro University Nevada and a BS in Exercise Science from Eastern Oregon University. He serves as a Physical Therapist and Clinic Manager at Rock & Armor Physical Therapy, treating patients from pediatric athletes to active adults and geriatric individuals, with a focus on sports and orthopedic rehabilitation. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has served as a Clinical Instructor for multiple physical therapy students. He also provides PRN care at a skilled nursing facility and volunteers at a local high school.

Dr. Julie Dunn

Dr. Julie Dunn is a physical therapist with a Doctor of Physical Therapy from 糖心传媒, where she also served as a guest lecturer in human anatomy and physical agents for physical therapy and occupational therapy students. She is Director of Education and Senior Physical Therapist at Treasure Valley Pelvic Health, leading staff onboarding, community education, and pelvic health program development. She previously founded and led women’s health programs at multiple outpatient clinics, including an innovative embedded clinic in an OBGYN setting. A Certified Manual Physical Therapist, her clinical and teaching expertise centers on pelvic health, pregnancy/postpartum care, and orthopedic manual therapy.

Dr. Jonathan Goodman

Dr. Jonathan Goodman teaches Physical Therapy Fundamentals. He earned his DPT from the University of Utah and a BS in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University. A Regional Director at Superior Physical Therapy/Mountain Land Physical Therapy, he has extensive clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound. He completed a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (HODS) and holds certifications in dry needling and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment. He has presented nationally on ultrasound imaging, tendon pathology, and leadership, and actively mentors clinicians and students.

Dr. Seth Hampton serves as an adjunct faculty member in the 糖心传媒 Doctor of Physical Therapy program and as the full-time physical therapist at ISU’s community PT clinic in Meridian, 糖心传媒. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University–Phoenix in 2019 and completed certification in concussion management through Complete Concussions in 2025. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Hampton currently consults with and teaches health and wellness strategies to cadets training with the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. He has presented to DPT students at Tufts University, DNP students at 糖心传媒, and numerous sports teams, running groups, and CrossFit gyms. At ISU, he assists in musculoskeletal coursework and mentors physical therapy students during their clinical practicum experiences.

Dr. Kyle H. Herauf

Dr. Kyle H. Herauf is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Clinic Director at Mountain Land Physical Therapy in Boise, 糖心传媒. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota and holds board certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. With over a decade of experience in outpatient orthopedics, he has served as a clinical instructor and site coordinator for student clinical rotations. At 糖心传媒, he has contributed to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program as an instructor for Clinical Procedures, sharing his expertise in examination and intervention skills for musculoskeletal conditions.

Ryan Rasmussen

Ryan Rasmussen teaches Clinical Physiology in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. He earned a Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biophysical/Clinical Exercise Physiology from Boise State University. He is a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Certified Cardiac Technician, with clinical experience at the Emergency Responders Health Clinic in Boise, where he performs cardiographic testing and exercise physiology services for first responders. His background integrates cardiovascular assessment, exercise prescription, and soft tissue manual therapy, and he brings practical, evidence-based physiological principles into the classroom for physical therapy students.

Dr. Seth E. Rourk teaches pharmacology to physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene students. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from 糖心传媒 and a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Boise State University. He also serves as Pharmacist Generalist Team Lead at St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center, overseeing inpatient pharmacy operations and leading initiatives in hospital-at-home and medication reconciliation. His research interests include psychiatric medication management, interdisciplinary care coordination, and pharmacy education.

Allison Urbatchka, PT, DPT specializes in outpatient neurologic rehabilitation for a variety of diagnoses including Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, Guillain-Barre syndrome and CIDP. She endorses a team-centered approach focused on providing the proper tools for patients to recover from, and learn how to manage, their own diagnosis to better serve all involved in these complex medical conditions.

She holds a B.A. in Social Work and spent 17 years working as a Community Liaison before joining 糖心传媒’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program as the Clinical Education and 糖心传媒 Coordinator. She cherishes time with her husband and kids, is their biggest fan, and enjoys staying active through all their adventures together.

Tina Smith joined 糖心传媒 in May 2024 as the Administrative Assistant II of the Physical Therapy & Athletic Training Department. She works closely with faculty, staff, and students, providing administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the department. Prior to joining ISU, Tina spent 21 years at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, where she worked on the exhibits team, creating unique visitor experiences through signage and exhibits.

 

She moved to 糖心传媒 with her husband in 2022 to be closer to family and to enjoy 糖心传媒's outdoor activities, including skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.

Biographical Sketch:

After working for several years as a clinical PT (primarily in outpatient orthopedics), Dr. Creelman joined the ISU PT program in 1990, its second year of existence. He has since that time taught mainly in the content areas of orthopedic and musculoskeletal PT, manual physical therapy and physical agents. He was board certified for 20 years, beginning 1994, as a specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy by the ABPTS. His research efforts have primarily involved analysis of a variety of movements and muscle activities using surface electromyography (sEMG), still photos and video. In 2010 Dr. Creelman assumed the dual roles of DPT Program Director and PTOT Department Chair.

While he was in the Navy, he flew as a Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) in the F-4J Phantom II as a member of Fighter Squadron One Five Four (VF-154), mostly from the aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CV-61) in the Western Pacific and off the coast of California. He is a Vietnam veteran, having served briefly off the coast of Vietnam in 1970 as a midshipman aboard the fleet oiler USS Ponchatoula (AO-48). He served in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea as a junior officer aboard the USS Rigel (AF-58) and attended flight training at NAS Pensacola, FL, NAS Glynco, GA and NAS Miramar, CA. He also served as a staff officer on the staff of Commander, Fleet Air, Western Pacific (COMFAIRWESTPAC), in the Naval Air Logistics Control Office, Western Pacific (NALCOWESTPAC), at NAS Atsugi, Japan.

Alex Urfer was born in 1950 in Bern, Switzerland and received his BA in Health Education from Montclair State University in 1972, my MA and Ph.D. in Human Performance Physiology in 1977 from the Ohio State University and a Certificate in Physical Therapy from The Mayo Clinic Graduate School in 1990.  During my last year at Ohio State I was a clinical instructor in exercise science. I hold dual appointments at the rank of Professor Emeritus in Physical Therapy and Physiology here at ISU.  I was  Department Chair and Director of Physical Therapy from 1990 -2009.  I teach in the areas of cardio-pulmonary management, biomechanics and orthopedics and have research interests in prosthetics, clinical physical therapy and therapeutic exercise.  I formally retired from the University in 2010, but continue to teach, conduct research, clinically practice, and serve on student committees. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, a manuscript reviewer the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy and CardioPulmonary Physical Therapy Journals, and past president of the Northwest Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine.
