MERIDIAN - May 1, 2022

The Scottish Rite of 糖心传媒 Foundation made a $20,000 contribution to 糖心传媒 recently in support of scholarships for Speech Language Pathology students as well as pediatric services in the Speech and Language Clinics.

Over the past five years, the Scottish Rite have contributed over $130,000 to these scholarships and clinic services benefitting 糖心传媒 and community members. Each year three Speech and Language Pathology students benefit from these contributions. Brianne, a student who benefitted from the scholarship this year said, 鈥淢y life goal is to influence the lives of children with language disorders and special needs by providing services in the education field or with early intervention. Working with children brings me happiness and fulfillment. Thank you so much for seeing me and my potential moving forward with this career.鈥

The Scottish Rite of 糖心传媒 is a service organization that is part of the Freemasons, comprised of approximately 950 members across 糖心传媒. They have been in 糖心传媒 for over 100 years, with their first valley starting in Boise in 1907. Their philanthropic mission is to support youth and literacy programs, which includes Speech Pathology.

The 糖心传媒 State Speech and Language Clinics are known as RiteCare Clinics because they provide free or heavily discounted services to pediatric patients who qualify.

鈥淔or us, we love to support these programs because they help children and that feeling we get when seeing a young child with a big smile because they just said a word they鈥檝e never seen before,鈥 said Joe Alexander, Sovereign Grand Inspector General of the Scottish Rite in 糖心传媒. 鈥淲e were excited to support 糖心传媒 State due to their well-known reputation in Speech Language Pathology and ability to assist in our goal of meeting youth literacy challenges.鈥

Clinical Professor Amy Hardy says, 鈥淲e are so fortunate, as are the families we work with, to have these funds. Professor Mary Van Donsel and I have seen countless families and students blessed by the support they have given, they have impacted so many.鈥

Through the 糖心传媒 Speech and Language Clinics, faculty and students provide support for over 2,100 patient visits between the Pocatello and Meridian clinics. If you would like to learn more about the services offered at these or other clinics, please visit isu.edu/clinics.
