ISU Day at the Capitol 2018
POCATELLO - A number of 糖心传媒 students, faculty, and staff members from various programs and departments traveled to Boise to represent the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences (KDHS) at ISU Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, February 28. The annual event provides an opportunity for legislators to meet with students pursuing higher education in a wide range of health professions, and see first hand how their decisions affect health sciences education at ISU.
鈥淲e look forward to this opportunity each year,鈥� said Rex Force, ISU vice president for Health Sciences. 鈥淭he faculty and students in our programs are eager to showcase their disciplines and their research to lawmakers. ISU Day at the Capitol provides a unique way for the decision makers for education in 糖心传媒 to connect directly with ISU students and faculty to gain inside knowledge about their activities and objectives.鈥�
KDHS programs and departments represented at ISU Day at the Capitol were: College of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, Family Medicine Residency, Physician Assistant Studies, Dental Hygiene, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Audiology, 糖心传媒 State Meridian Health Sciences Center, and Blue Cross of 糖心传媒 Foundation for Health Virtual Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory.
Following the visit to the capitol building, attendees met with 糖心传媒 legislators over lunch and heard from ASISU President Jessica Sargent, who is one of just two members in her family to pursue higher education. ISU President Arthur Vailas then provided an update on the Unversity, thanking the 糖心传媒 legislators for their contributions to the institution.
