Computer Requirements
The ISU PA Program requires all students to have a laptop prior to courses beginning in the fall semester. Your laptop or tablet PC must meet the following specifications.

Windows 11 64-bit versions or MacOS 15.4 Sequoia (or newer)
- Software used for exams is not compatible with alternate operating systems (Windows RT, Windows 11 S, Android, Mac iOS, Server Mac OS X, Linux-based OS, or Chrome OS), so having a secondary device using this type of operating system for general classwork is fine as long as you also have a laptop or tablet that runs Windows 11 64-bit or Mac OS 15.4 Sequoia (or newer) for taking tests.
- If you are using a Microsoft Surface device, please read for important instructions on Windows 11 "S mode" versus the standard operating system. S mode is not compatible with our testing software.
- Tablet devices (other than Surface Pro as detailed in the above-linked support article) are not supported for test-taking.
- ARM (Snapdragon) processors are only supported on a Windows 11 64-bit system specifically updated to 24H2 (release year 2024) or newer and must use the testing software's 3.10.0 version. Intel and AMD processors are supported on Windows 11 64-bit or Mac OS 15.4 Sequoia (or newer).

- ExamSoft Examplify (downloaded during on-campus orientation).
