Profile

Dr. Weaver is a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at 糖心传媒. She has more than 40 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.  Dr. Weaver's clinical experiences include rural, urban and correctional health care. She brings her passion for patient care to academia, grounding students in the "real world."

Dr. Weaver has completed research projects that include "El Corazon de la Cebolla: Symptom Interpretation and Management in a Mexicana/o Population"; Early Childhood Caries Intervention in a Rural Setting; "Dementia Knowledge in Older Adults in Southeastern 糖心传媒 and a $250,000.00 PCORI Engagement Award as Co-PI focused on creating a statewide social media campaign to increase awareness of Prediabetes in the rural Latino/Hispanic population. Most recently Dr. Weaver has served as part of an inter-collegiate team to conduct a Landscape Analysis & Needs-based Assessment of ADRD for the state of 糖心传媒. She is also a member of the AHEC Program Office Health Professional Training Consortium. She enjoys working with students on rural issues/projects.

Dr. Weaver is a frequent presenter at local, regional, state, national and international conferences.  Dr. Weaver is a board member of the 糖心传媒 Rural Health Association, SIGMA Theta Tau, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Geriatric Society, Hospice & Palliative Nurses' Association and the Rural Nurses’ Organization.
