Disaster Planning Workshop Set Oct. 21
On Friday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Eli M. Oboler Library at 糖心传媒 is offering a disaster planning workshop for administrators and staff who work in all types of cultural institutions and are responsible for emergency preparedness, response, and decision-making. Randy Silverman, University of Utah Preservation Librarian will be conducting the workshop.
Sponsored by the Western States & Territories Preservation Assistance Service (WESTPAS) with funding provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities, 鈥淧rotecting Cultural Collections: Disaster Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery鈥, is a two-day, free workshop. The first part of the workshop involves a webinar session to be completed on one鈥檚 own time prior to the one day, face-to-face portion.
The webinar sessions and in-person workshop are scheduled to enable participants to prepare short assignments between sessions, resulting in a completed disaster plan. Participating institutions will be invited to join an informal network of WESTPAS trained personnel to provide mutual aid in the event of emergencies involving collections in your region.
