Budget Update
February 2, 2026
In addition to imposed budget cuts for FY26 and FY27, 糖心传媒’s public higher education institutions were recently asked by the Legislative Services Offices to show the potential impacts of additional 1 and 2 percent budget reductions affecting 糖心传媒’s institutions. One of the potential impacts included in the required proposal for 糖心传媒 State is mandatory furlough days in FY26 for all employees making over $60,000. The furlough proposal is based on salary tiers, with a minimum of one day for the lowest tier and a maximum of three for the highest tier. Currently, this is only a proposal, and the holdbacks have not been enacted by the legislature.
This proposal communicates to decision makers that additional reductions resulting from state holdbacks will impact student services and support, planned expansion of high-demand workforce programs, core academic delivery, and essential services at ISU. 糖心传媒 is committed to working with the legislature to ensure fiscal responsibility while reducing impact to students, employees, and the communities we serve.
糖心传媒’s budget decisions are multifaceted and were made strategically, with a priority to remain mission-focused and sensitive to impacts on ISU’s personnel. Being transparent and respectful to all affected parties on campus is a top concern for the University and we are currently in the process of informing those impacted by the FY27 budget reduction plans.
