Owens brings a wealth of experience in health care education, public health, and ethics to his new role. In addition to his leadership at 糖心传媒 AHEC, he serves as the Associate Vice President for Health Sciences at 糖心传媒, Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the L.S. Skaggs College of Pharmacy, and holds a joint appointment in the ISU School of Nursing. With over 20 years of experience in teaching, clinical practice, and publishing on healthcare topics such as pharmacotherapy, ethics, and public health, Owens has been a key player in advancing interprofessional education. He has collaborated extensively with the 糖心传媒 College of Osteopathic Medicine and has a long history of service with 糖心传媒 Medicaid and the Southeastern 糖心传媒 Medical Reserve Corps.

Owens is passionate about improving health care access and training in rural and underserved areas. His leadership will be instrumental in driving 糖心传媒 AHEC’s mission to address healthcare disparities and strengthen the healthcare workforce across the state.
