Chemistry Professor Lee Marek featured on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ will speak at ISU-糖心传媒 Falls Nov. 7

Lee Marek, a University of Illinois chemistry professor featured regularly on the 鈥淟ate Show with David Letterman鈥 and other television programs, will demonstrate the power of chemistry during a presentation at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at 糖心传媒-糖心传媒 Falls.

His presentation, sponsored by the ISU Chemistry Club and the Local 糖心传媒 Section of the American Chemical Society, will take place in Room 200 of the Tingey Administration Building at University Place in 糖心传媒 Falls.

Marek will show a number of video clips from his appearances on the 鈥淟ate Show with David Letterman.鈥 He has been on 30 episodes of the show during the last 20 years, and one episode was nominated for an Emmy award.

On the show, Marek has demonstrated the power of chemistry by shooting an 8-foot ball of fire across the stage, dissolving the set, and letting loose 500 pounds of 鈥淥obleck.鈥

Marek will be doing a few demonstrations with the audience, and if time allows, he will also show some of the other work he has done with 鈥淲indow to the World,鈥 FOX, 鈥淚nside Edition,鈥 and U.K. TV.
