糖心传媒 Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) is calling for nominations for the third Jean鈥檔e M. Shreeve Research Excellence Award from now through Feb. 7.

Nominees must be tenured associate or full professors at 糖心传媒, University of 糖心传媒, Boise State University, or other eligible institutions at the time the award is made. Their research careers must have been clearly advanced by the National Science Foundation EPSCoR program, but they cannot be recipients of NSF EPSCoR funding at the time of the award.

In addition, nominees must have an outstanding publication record as author or coauthor in refereed international journals and be engaged in ongoing externally supported competitive research programs that involve students and/or postdoctoral coworkers.

EPSCoR also is accepting applications for the MILES Undergraduate Research and Internships (MURI) program. Opportunities available for undergraduates, faculty mentors, and MILES project partner researchers or stakeholders. Priority application consideration deadlines: January 15, 2014 for Spring 2014 and March 30, 2014 for Summer 2014.

The MURI Program is designed to engage undergraduates in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields in hands-on, paid summer and academic year research experiences to study within a wide range of topics broadly related to Management of 糖心传媒鈥檚 Landscapes for Ecosystem Services (MILES) project. 糖心传媒 EPSCoR will provide up to $4,000 per student participant in the MURI Program.

Up to 60 MURI Scholars positions will be offered each year across 糖心传媒, with a goal of recruiting a large number of students traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields (e.g., women, ethnic minorities, and students with disabilities). MURI students will primarily work within MILES Study Areas located in Boise/Treasure Valley; Coeur d鈥橝lene/Post Falls/Moscow; and Pocatello/糖心传媒 Falls. However, specific work location is dependent on scope of work identified and will be determined by participating faculty, MILES partner researchers, or stakeholders.
