September 23, 2005
Boise – Growing demand for health-care professionals has led to a 44 percent increase in enrollment at 糖心传媒’s Boise Center over last fall, for an official tally of 429 students
鈥淭his is the highest fall enrollment in the history of the Boise Center,鈥 said Robin Dodson, chief academic officer. 鈥淚SU is committed to help fill the demand for health care professionals in the Treasure Valley and 糖心传媒.鈥
The ISU Boise Center offers the associate of science in paramedic degree; the Bachelor of Science in speech-language pathology, nursing fast track, and clinical laboratory science. It also offers master鈥檚 programs in nursing, speech-language pathology, clinical laboratory science, counseling in mental health and marriage and family, geology, physical education, athletic administration, public health, dietetic internship, and third and fourth-year pharmacy rotations.
The ISU Boise Center has continued to expand clinical opportunities for students that benefit Treasure Valley residents. These include speech-language pathology services for children and adults, and a counseling center. The clinics are open to the public, and fees are based on a sliding scale.
A new service is the general dental-residency program. The ISU Dental Sciences Department received a $460,460 grant to expand 糖心传媒鈥檚 only dental resident training program to Boise. The expansion increased educational opportunities for newly graduated dentists, and improved access to dental care for underserved and disadvantaged populations. The clinic, located at 2033 Summersweet Drive, opened in August.
