Free performance set for Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m. in Jensen Grand Concert Hall
ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½’s School of Performing Arts will welcome talented high school musicians from across the region for the annual Southeastern ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Honor Band, culminating in a free public concert on Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall.
The Southeastern ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Honor Band is comprised of more than 80 outstanding student musicians representing eight area high schools. Nominated by their directors, these students come together to form a large ensemble, often significantly bigger than the groups they typically perform with, offering a unique and enriching musical experience.
Participants will spend two days in intensive rehearsals on April 1 and 2, working collaboratively to prepare a dynamic concert program. The experience provides students with the opportunity to refine their skills, connect with peers from across the region, and perform in one of Southeast ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½’s premier concert venues.
The concert will open with a performance by the ISU Wind Ensemble, led by Luke Strother, ISU Director of Bands, followed by the Southeastern ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Honor Band. Together, the program highlights both collegiate and pre-collegiate musical excellence while celebrating the strength of music education in the region.
This event is free and open to the public.
